You're not the only one who first thought the Matt Gaetz appointment a joke. Good Grief (expletives deleted). Why, oh why, oh why, with all the excellent Republican state AGs, would Trump pick him? I'm trying to ascertain a sound reason but at this point all I can say is that my high hopes for Trump have been deflated.
The chances of Matt Gaetz getting confirmed by the Senate are slim to none, barring God’s knows what sketchy maneuvers may take place behind closed doors. To say that he is hated by nearly the entire RINO faction constituting both Houses of Congress would be an understatement.
Something’s definitely going on with this pick. We shall have to stay tuned.
Marco Rubio as Secretary of State does not thrill me.
That department, almost since it’s inception, has been a nest for some of the most anti-American and anti-Semitic vipers to ever serve in the US government. It needs a thorough cleansing, top to bottom, by someone who must be equipped with cojones of steel, if we’re ever to finally establish sound and coherent American foreign policy around the world.
Unless Rubio plans to appoint his Assistant Secretary to be the “bad cop” to his “good cop”, I don’t see “little Marco” as the man for the job.
Maybe DOJ will finally look seriously at the issue of which NPOs aligned with the Democrats are funding real terrorists like Hamas in the US

Maybe DOJ can investigate why under Obama Israeli strategic plans were leaked from inside the CIA and elsewhere
This will not end peacefully. And Gaetz is a great pick.
