Where’s the NYT reporting on this latest atrocity?

I tell ya, they’re co-opted.

As someone who has worked as a journalist in Israel and later for a global news organization for over a dozen years, being mindful of language, and not using inflammatory words, is exactly what journalists are suppose to do. Also using words as they are technically defined -- words carry weight and meaning, I'm not sure why they have become so fluid lately. There are good reasons for not using emotive language, impartiality being the top one. Coming in a close second is the safety of journalists embedded in the war.

Not sure about this rise of the Cyber City, but fascinating Back Pages. Work from Home (WFH) certainly benefits certain societal segments (especially families w/ children who can limit costly out of home child care). On the other hand, companies who need to actually ‘create’ and innovate to thrive, need more in-person working, not less. Check out how quickly both Boeing & Nike lost their mojo (and cultures) in part due to WFH during Covid. There also seems to be a high correlation between cities with lots of vacant office space and rise/propensity for open air drug markets (doom cycle). Gonna take a return to ‘broken windows’ policing in some jurisdictions just to make it safe to return to downtown’s, let alone breaking the WFH sickness/health (depending on one’s POV & industry)
