"It’s true that the system failed Neely, but not in the sense meant by anti-law-enforcement politicians, whose answer to the problem is always to add funding to the human-services complex, preferably at the expense of policing. The system that failed him is precisely the system they designed, which includes the convenient excuse that its gravest malfunctions are always the fault of a heartless, racist society that has starved it of adequate funding." That is the key to a massive demise of Neely and others like him. Thankfully, Penny is exonerated, but I find it abominable that Neely's family is now suing Penny. Where have they been before??
Interesting the presumption of guilt rather than innocence of Mr. Mangoine across Old and New media. Either Luigi is a very dumb criminal who invited/welcomed the arrest (having the gun and motivation docs on his person at time of apprehension) -- or the evidence is planted, and we're being presented with the wrong guy. I'm suspending judgement until DNA evidence places him in NYC at time of the shooting. Something about a water bottle and candy wrapper recovered at scene of the crime...
If Neely had been white and Penny black, would these rabble rousers still be out there crying about the injustice of it all?
No, of course not.
It’s all about race to them, and a perpetual “get out of jail free card” for any black person’s crimes, certainly not about their faux-concern for the so-called “oppressed”.
Thank you for this piece on Penny (Seth) and for all Scroll's invaluable articles (Park and Tablet) - so essential. There is one error in paragraph 4 - "Social workers approached Penny in a subway car a few weeks before his death, and he attempted to pee on them" where I believe you meant to say "Neely" and not "Penny". Thanks again.

Don’t be shocked by the current stances of the Vatican This is what liberation theology looks like

The system that the woke left designed failed Neely One wonders how much was spent I. His not being incarcerated despite a long rap sheet
“Social workers approached Penny in a subway car a few weeks before his death, and he attempted to pee on them.” Needs to be fixed ASAP.
