Something that has always puzzled me: We see Death portrayed in art, but not as much Birth. I'm talking the baby actually entering the world out of the birth canal. Has anyone seen this aspect of life depicted prominently in art?
We need to create a members-only novax/no-nanotech bloodbank. Whether members-only or religious-oriented we need a way to protect the bloodbank from outside interests and a way to legally justify it against discrimination claims.
Spooky stuff. But we all carry brain prosthetics around now don't we? Most of don't memorize phone numbers anymore. I has more phone numbers in my brain as a 12 year old than I do now. I used memorize a route to another town or shop BEFORE I got in the car. Now each turn and offramp is a surprise and we forget a second time.
"There isn’t so far a comprehensive counter-movement to challenge the transhumanist capture of political institutions, scholarship, or even our basic understanding of technology. "
Look at this way -there is a logical segue from legalizing pornography which knows no limits in its content and is premised on self gratification as opposed to being a "marital aid" to sex dolls and toys to synthetic genitalia-all are rooted in detaching sexuality from marriage and in removing any concomitant residual guilt in doing so
It is a familiar and quintessentially American fallacy to seek technical solutions for what are not really technical problems, and the temptation will only grow. As for transhumanism, it is not merely about the human/machine interface. Dr. Fauci farmed out illegal gain-of-function research to a black site in China (as a Washington insider, he will face no punishment for it). We may be able to keep the lid on in this country. But one wonders: what chimeras are in the works in places beyond the reach of ethics or law or any bio-conservatism movement?
Synthetic genitalia are unfortunately a logical development for a society where sexuality is detached from a lasting commitment called marriage
Is the human mind the betterer of the social mind, or vice versa? How should tech play into this relationship?
Technological solutions to human emotional problems are rarely (if ever) successful.

That should be the Catholic Church
