The defenestration of the NGO network, though admittedly just in its earliest stages, is some the best news one could ever hope to hear.

They are responsible for so much evil and destruction it is impossible to quantify.

The only cherry on that sundae would be seeing some of those people responsible for organizing, funding and orchestrating their heinous activities prosecuted for their crimes.

Trump connecting crash to possible DEI is unhelpful and non uniting. Unnecessary by him to opine this way. Families don’t need this idea in their heads. Not every event needs to be tied to the DEI or immigration boogie man. I say it’s insulting to my intelligence and yours to do so.

Yep. Therein lies his biggest fault, at least as I (a supporter of his) see it. He’s got the public actually on his side for once, but this stuff means my lefty friends will now demand that I defend my support.

Yes. I voted for Trump 3x but I’m also a bit sickened by some of his rhetoric. Take the immigration deportation stuff. Not every one of them is a hardened criminal. If only we had a sensible system to put this issue to rest instead of painting all of them as a boogie man. How a wish for a true uniter who doesn’t insult our intelligence.

We will never have a sensible system because Congress won’t do its job. So when a president is willing to use an EO it will be one man’s version of a solution, rather than a deliberated-upon, voted-for system. The people are basically behind it so far; now if he would just keep his mouth shut for a minute.

But what if it was? Which it likely was based on bidens policies

I'm assuming Trump said what he said about DEI because he assumed the female piloting the Army Apache helicopter was not qualified. But I've read she had 500 hours of flight experience and was considered highly qualified. Not sure what else he knows, if anything, that might come out later that makes him think either the Army pilot or the ATC who redirected the plane at the last minute, was a DEI hire.

Thing is, today was not the time for him to be talking about this. It’s basically like blaming dead DEI hires while the bodies are still warm. It should have been all about sorrow for the families and “we’ll get to the bottom of this …”

Trump doesn't have a filter. I agree it is too early in the investigation to make conclusions about the cause of the accident. My point was that Trump no doubt has access to information not publicly released. He has expressed sorrow and concern for the families, but the media seems to be focusing on his comments about DEI. His comments may also just be general in nature, that is the military and government spend too much time on DEI training and not enough on learning and reinforcing needed technical skills to get the job done. Trump wasn't specific and many folk jump to the conclusion he was alluding specifically to the pilots and/or the ATC in the Tower.

The ATC tower was severely understaffed however…

Reporting is uniform that the ATC Tower was understaffed at the time. Reporting also seems to place blame on the helicopter pilot, saying the plane was descending towards landing but the helicopter was at a higher elevation than it should have been, and flying directly towards the plane.

I read the same. Also it seems ridiculous to be holding training operations in the vicinity of a major airport. Obviously. What a tragic mess.

I think we need more army choppers flying visual at night at DCA just to keep ATC on its toes and to bring the thrill of risk back into commercial aviation.

Biden wanted to make ATC look like America by allowing those with epilepsy, mental health issues, quadriplegics etc to be hired. Maybe they actually weren’t but they wanted to “diversify “ the employees like they wanted undeplioyable trans in the military

You guys probably should have taken a second look at that chart before publishing. A casual reader would look at that and think the top ten recipients of pharma money were all dems, which isn't at all the case.

It’s charting level of antagonism vs donations. The Republicans weren’t very antagonistic.

An article about problems with this airport and why a crash was inevitable.

Trump is obsessed with DEI and will blame anything and everything on it. Instead of showing compassion (a trait that he thoroughly lacks) and understanding that families and a nation were grieving, he of course, without any evidence, has to blame the tragedy on DEI and does so in his usual hysterical and unhelpful way.

“a trait that he thoroughly lacks”

Have you witnessed his interactions with the North Carolinian hurricane victims or Laken Riley’s mother? There are many more examples of his compassionate behavior, unlike for example Biden’s disaster appearance in Maui which he made all about himself and his notable no-show in East Palestine.

The TDS is strong with this one.

“When a journalist asked if Trump would visit the site of the catastrophe, the president suggested that he wasn’t interested in going swimming” he added.

Great timing to crack a joke and as always, more cruel than funny.

When this country needed comfort, we got chaos. When this country needed healing, we got hatred.

🙄 That’s irrelevant to my comment. Also the “journalist” asked a stupid question.

The only hatred I see here is in the lens you’re viewing through…🤷‍♂️
