Trrump as he emerged with his fist high , yelling "Fight" and bleeding looked like a genuine American patriot of the sort that we used to read about in history books from scenes from the American Revolution, the Civil War and World War II. The more that the America hating and woke BigTech, Big Law and mainstream media attacked him and his supporters, the stronger he became and after the combination of the debate and the near horrific events of last Saturday night, we can expect the Democrats to entertain us with a convention in Chicago like the convention in in 1968 both inside the convention hall and by their storm troopers in the streets and emerge from the electoon as a very divided party that will be unified only by the "transformation" of the party by purging all moderates and supporters of Israel. This was the game plan after 1968 and the deeply divided party now is in grave danger of losing the House and the Senate.

One of the most insightful opinion pieces I’ve seen in a long while. Earlier today, before reading this, I found myself telling my wife and kids that the support of Elon Musk was a huge game changer. This piece helps me understand why

Fascinating take on the "union" of Trump and Musk. I choose a vision of America that includes a visionary plus a man, at times hyperbolic, irritating, mean, sometimes childish who now looks different. Look at his eyes, his facial expressions. I watched him this evening at the convention and he looked changed, somehow.

Agreed — his expression shows less arrogance, and more gravity.

To David Samuels: I'm not certain which planet you live on, but on my white, well-educated, politically informed, policy-driven planet - horrible, racist, MAGA Jew that I am - I seem to recall ridicule of Trump for assuring the public that Covid vaccines were coming. I also live on the planet where the Democrats, of which I used to be one, shut down, locked down, vilified, fired, denounced, harassed and generally stomped on any individual that dared to question their Covid management policy. On my planet, the Democrats spent into oblivion, passed regulations that fanned inflation we still choke on, and undid in a few fell swoops FIFTY YEARS of relative economic prosperity, relatively restrained economic policy and stability. On my planet, I'm now reeling from the vicious, unapologetic, At Me Too Nazi antisemitism the Democrats champion

under their Make Gaza Great Again! Keep Those Hostages! policies.

Boy would I LOVE to live on your planet - Planet Transference (it's TRUMP'S/DeSantis's/McConnell's, SOMEBODY ELSE'S fault - and if all of you were just different I would feel BETTER).

Baruch atah Adonai that you don't vote.

You're very readable, Park, and I disagree with a lot of what you write and keep reading anyway because it's important to me not to live in an opaque bubble. Like this passage is great, with the Jewish cultural reference and all:

"Trump’s supporters, meanwhile, who made the mistake of trespassing on the grounds of the Capitol on Jan. 6, wearing headdresses with horns like teenage boys dressed up for Purim, would rot in prison, maybe forever—put there by vengeful party judges"

but you mistyped so much. Here, allow me: "Trump’s supporters, meanwhile, who *committed the crime* of trespassing on the grounds of the Capitol on Jan. 6, *attempted to stop a legal proceeding in Congress, threatened members of Congress and the Vice President of the United States with murder, vandalized the property, injured numerous law enforcement officers, and otherwise engaged in insurrection, all while* wearing headdresses with horns like teenage boys dressed up for Purim, would rot in prison, maybe forever *or as long as the statutes allowed*—put there by *duly selected juries of their peers.*"

I'm not gonna go into the Trump-Iwo Jima photo comparison, I get that reference and its significance, and I can't even argue with it (I don't think DJT is stupid, just abhorrent), but it's so insulting to people who actually served in the military. That moment is what made me, a person who's as far from conspiratorial as I thought one could be, allow myself to think that the whole thing was staged (I don't really, but it was so photo-oppy I couldn't help it).

I mean no offense, Yifyach, but your comment shows your ignorance.

Please subscribe to Declasified with Julie Kelly if you really want to learn what happened on January 6th 2021.

It was indeed a setup and thousnads well meaning citizens of this country are now in jail just because the party needed an "insurrection" narrative.

I hope you and your family will never know what it is like to be a political prisoner.

You obviously are free to think whatever you will about the Jan 6th protest. Fine.

But you’d do well also to consider the havoc, chaos and destruction perpetrated at the hands of Democrat and Leftist groups which have rampaged across the country causing untold devastation, intimidating and threatening, even killing and beating up people found in their way since 2020, and even now as we speak, threatening, attacking and intimidating innocent people simply going about their daily lives, destroying property and historic treasures, and not just going on here but all around the world.

It’s always best to remove the log from one’s own eye before pointing out the splinter in someone else’s.
