50,000 babies were born since October 7, 2023? Perhaps I am unclear about the words starving and genocide. Israel can't back down. The UK, France and Canada can turn their backs and pretend their are no hostages that are LITERALLY being starved to death. No Hamas. Anywhere. Ever. Not even in US sacred Universities.

Sure. Lying is part and parcel in any war. Thus, no Hamas info on how many combatants they are losing. In any war, losing own combatants is not genocide, nor is it losing some innocent bystanders, even if there is a 1:10 ratio. Otherwise, Britain's strategic bombing of Germany in WW2 would have been a war crime - and it wasn't. But West's MSM are aligned, for obvious reasons. It's a bit like British Propaganda in WW1 that the Huns were r*ping and murdering Belgian nuns.

I am sort of dreading the Scroll going behind the paywall. I understand it from a financial position but there are so few savvy voices for Israel. I can't do any more subscriptions but I wish you well.

Evergreen wisdom from Army Air Force General Curtis LeMay in the aftermath of WWII: "I'll tell you what war is about. You have to kill people, and when you've killed enough, they stop fighting."

That's all the guidance Israel should pay attention to.

“Zuhri, a senior spokesman for Hamas’ Doha-based political leadership, also suggested to the interviewer from Libyan television that the Gaza war was helping to spread the faith in the West. “What makes people in America, France, and elsewhere in Europe convert to Islam?” Zuhri asked. “We must not minimize this matter to 20, 100, or 1,000 homes destroyed in Gaza. The implications of this war far exceed the extent of Gaza and the region. The implications of this war exceed the boundaries of space and time.” Indeed.”

Hahaha! OK, Zuhri, we’ll gladly send you all those purple-haired, nose-ringed, gender-fluid numbskulls and see how that works out for you all.

Be careful what you wish for.

“Michael Doran argued in the latest edition of Tablet’s “Israel Update,” “Gaza is in the hands of Israel,” and it’s “not Donald Trump that’s keeping Israel from winning in Gaza,” but Israel itself.”

Yes, the crushing of Hamas is now entirely on Bibi, and why he is beating around the bush is not clear to me. Trumps wants Israel to win the war against Hamas, and win it quickly. And if that means silencing the voices of the Uk, France, etc. - even better. Those guys better strategize around Ukraine instead of wasting time recognizing a Palestinian state or other such nonsense.

I really like the Scroll, but it’s not possible for me to fork over the subscription price. I just don’t have the cash. The Tablet is becoming more and more the reading pleasure of an upper class, multi-degreed, closed off cohort. Once upon a time it was different…

Simply one of the best daily newsletters out there. Questions for everyone regarding Macron, Starmer and the new guy in Ottawa.

1. Do they really support Hamas given everything we have learned about the atavistic savages where even thousands of Gazans want them out, or are they playing to their increasingly Muslim electorates?

2. Is there a IRGC faction willing to abandon enrichment with the hope of retaining power or is everyone looking forward to meeting their 72 virgins?

3. Can we acknowledge that Israel’s air capabilities are only second to the US and perhaps even superior in many respects.

(1) They do a three pronged strategy. On the one hand Islamogauchism has captured France, Spain, UK, Canada and the US Democrat party. So yes, of course playing to their Muslim and Lefty and Woke electorate.

On the other hand, they do see Israel as a city on the hill that could inspire their own natcon fraction of the population. So they want to make Israel as unattractive as possible. So they support any credible enemy.

Finally, they are also apprehensive of losing their own Jewish population that would migrate back to Israel. Obviously, with antisemitism exploding, this is a possibility. So making Israel as unattractive as possible is again the strategy here.

This retaining Jewish populations is only operative in countries like France, UK and again in Germany. Ireland, Norway or Spain are BAD but don't have much to retain...

Will write on (2) and (3) if there is interest :D

Very thoughtful. Agree with your assessment. In fifty years or less, UK and France will unrecognizable. Unless some spectacular reformation in Islam occurs.

But that’s unlikely because Jordan is the official custodian of the Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem, including Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, both located on the Temple Mount. And Palestinians know that

When it comes to Israel related news, I prefer a Barak Ravid or Nadav Eyal. They post on X and frequently break news stories. That’s good journalism. Macdougal is more of an op-ed columnist like Tom Friedman..

Ravid is the pet of the anti-Netanyahu Left, and has always been so, their favored go-to whenever they want to poison the atmosphere between the US and Israel.

Everything he writes should come with that disclaimer.

Mr. Macdougald is not a journalist. There’s no attempt to be objective here, and the “right idea” at the end of his piece demonstrates that clearly. How is his writing any different from what an Israeli government propagandist might write? True journalists are not stenographers.

I hear what you’re saying. But I think The Scroll doesn’t pretend to journalism. They talk to their “insider” sources. I think even they would admit they’re a mouthpiece for Israel. I’ve given up hoping for a balance, any condemnation of marauding settlers or a war that’s killed thousands of babies. Or even any recognition that Trump is a moron. That’s not what they’re here for. I enjoy its strong point of view. It’s an amusing read and nothing more.

There is plenty of “coverage” of “marauding settlers or a war that’s killed thousands of babies. Or even any recognition that Trump is a moron.” There is plenty of such journalisming in The New York Times, Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and Al Jazeera, to name just a few. So if you are looking for more of such “coverage,” you have plenty to choose from. And “Trump is a moron” is not journalism, whether you agree with it or not.

There’s probably no more important journalistic endeavor than documenting just how truly ignorant, misinformed, and unprincipled our president is. His comments about stealth planes at West Point yesterday, for example. It’s beyond parody.
