Pope Francis has been ambiguous and confusing to Catholics since the very beginning of his Pontificate. His recent statements about Israel and his discarding "Just War" teaching are simply a continuation of the baseline ambiguity of proclaiming Catholic doctrine.

The United States has vetoed a UN Security Council resolution that called for an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, on the grounds it would not have secured the release of hostages.
“We made clear throughout negotiations we could not support an unconditional ceasefire that failed to release the hostages. Because, as this council has previously called for, a durable end to the war must come with the release of the hostages,” Deputy US Ambassador Robert Wood said following the veto Wednesday.
“These two urgent goals are inextricably linked. This resolution abandoned that necessity, and for that reason, the United States could not support it,” Wood added.
Regarding “The Big Story,” it’s utterly maddening that this can take place. On top of which I feel ashamed that an organization such as DAWN, and others like BLM and CAIR, are able to exist and influence - meaningfully, in a way that insults our constitutional republic and further stokes hatred and victimhood - with no consequences. 60 days is a LOOONG time. I am fearful the damage being done and to be done will be hard to reverse. And of course NO mainstream media outlet calls any of this out. Shame on them!!!
“Perhaps he prefers to speak out against hatred of Jews only when Jews are exclusively victims.” Perhaps a more apt (and more succinct) title for Adam Gregerman’s piece “Unfulfilled Promise: Pope Francis and the Israel-Hamas war” would be “Pope Francis Loves Dead Jews”.
