'On my school’s website they write: “Our vision: To awaken courage and intellect and peacefully transform the world.”'

More misery, bloodshed and destruction have been caused by people trying to "transform the world" than all other causes combined.

For the love of god, no one asked our intellectual betters or our educational clerisy to "heal" or "transform the world", these things always seem to start with utopian unicorns and end with massacres and gulags.

The history of the 20th century is filled with our best and brighest professing some utopian scheme and quickly becoming apologists for murder and/or handmaidens of disaster.

Just create and support a government that guarantees law and order and civil rights, that helps the least fortunate, and save the preaching for church.

We have weak people who no longer can speak much less teach truth.

Sounds like Abington Friends School to me.

The more I think about it, the curioser and curioser the behavior of progressive rich suburbanites with money to drop on private school educations becomes to me. Based on their own reasoning, they are the colonizers and oppressors and prime beneficiaries of inequality they're always protesting against. I find myself wondering if they realize they are gunning for their own (and their children's, siblings' parents', neighbors', friends', work colleagues', etc.) annihilation. The conclusion I usually come to is that they haven't since I haven't heard of anyone calling for a mass suicide movement yet, but maybe that will be next. Jim Jones all over again, maybe? He was a major macher in San Francisco before Jonestown.

It makes more sense when you realize that there isn’t any logic involved and it’s all about emotion. The same people who will scream colonizers and demand that white Americans “go back where they came from” are curiously silent on the fact that people from all over the world are currently colonizing those same countries (and America too for that matter). Ireland currently has about a million immigrants. There are 31.5 million Americans who claim Irish ancestry. So what Ireland is supposed to repatriate 31.5 million Americans (in a country with a population of 5 million, smaller in land mass than many American states) but also accommodate the 1 million immigrants currently there and however many want to move there? If you ask said people if that means African Americans get sent back to Africa the answer is well no they were brought here by force. Well thanks Skippy, guess that means I get to stay since my Scots family was sent here by force. Again I can’t imagine the 5 million Scots would really appreciate the importation of 20 million Scotch Americans. I also suspect that the deportation of the 5% of non-white Scots isn’t on the agenda of go back to where you came from. It all makes much more sense when you realize there is no logic, it’s just the highly manipulated emotion of the minute.
