Could there ever be a politics-free free speech, particularly so in the "culturally influential fields such as academia, journalism, and publishing"?

The article Who Really Benefits From the First Amendment is beautifully written, and makes such good points about the first amendment that I absolutely hesitate to bring up todays cultural moment, but, and this is the only thing I disagree on in the article, gender is not vital topic that needs to be taught. Neither is eugenics, or phrenology, or several other progressive movements that are wrong. Gender had never been taught in public education outside a small group in academia and had never had an impact on any but a small group of patients. Inserting into middle school textbooks the idea that if you don't display stereotypical male or female traits your gender might be male or female isn't censorship, it's not teaching wrong information.

I agree with Cherian George. The leverage of suppression of free speech is in the hands of the major media. It has been so since the COVID pandemic was proclaimed.
