Don't blame Israel and the west for not throwing money and time away on a culture whose leaders value death over life ,historically speaks in a language of reason to the West but incites anti semitism in its native language-this has been the tactic of the Arab world for decades and shows no sign of abating.

I didn’t hear Mr. Mansour mention he’d visited any Arab government agencies, or organizations in an effort to get funding for his programs to reach the children of Gaza or the West Bank. Perhaps he realized what a dead end that would be.

I see his point and had a similar thought, based on the idea in Torah of how we must care about those under our control first (male and females slaves, wives, even domesticated animals), and only after their needs are fully met can the householder use their assets towards their own needs and wants. At the very beginning of the state of Israel, there was barely enough food for everyone. Still, the state should have fed the Palestinians under its control first. As economics improved, so should have the living conditions of the Palestinians improved at the same rate. Not only did they lose the war, many lost their homes and orchards and livelihoods. They were humiliated at every turn by the Israelis and had their humiliation enforced by Arab leaders, who insured that the living conditions of regular Palestinians were kept miserable in order to blame the Israelis for all of their troubles. Despite American and European understanding after WWII that the defeated countries must be supported in rebuilding (Marshall Plan, for example), there was little such organized and coordinated support for the Palestinians.

Both Nature and Politics hate a vacuum, so it is no wonder that the Arab and Muslim world, furious over the machinations of Sykes-Pikot agreement and the San Remo Conference, turned to one of the few paybacks they could muster. While the West could point to the billions of dollars given to support Palestinian rebuilding, it never followed through to ensure they had responsible leadership. They knew the money was going to munitions and tunnels embedded under civilian housing, schools, and hospitals. This attitude was coupled with Israeli hubris that saw its leaders, many in uniform, march up to the Dome of the Rock simply because they could. They clearly forgot the Jewish concept of not humiliating the people you've defeated, since you've already won and doing more is unnecessarily cruel and breeds more resentment than the loss in war.

It's no longer about blame or who is at fault. Unless the folks who have the will and wherewithall decide to change how they think and respond, the only winners will be the Iranians., and I don't see another Alexander the Great prepared to defeat them.

The one true fact is that this situation cannot continue, for the Israelis, the Palestinians, or for the West. All it is doing is creating more situations for mutual Israeli/Palestinian payback, and for the liberals in the US to either wring their hands, or support the "resistance", both of which will ensure a Trump win.

I've been a Democrat and an Zionist my whole life. I was in Israel in 1971 and stayed at a Palestinian hostel, since torn down. I was there in 1973 and spent time in a bomb shelter. I was there in 1988 after the Intifada, and again in 2019 barely recognizing the place for all of the growth and development, highways, and walls. The beach in Tel Aviv was still there, as was Baltinesters.
