Let me preface this by saying nothing excuses the atrocities that took place on 10/7 and I support Israel 100%. However, Mr. Blumenthal is obviously a highly educated person, but one that fails to acknowledge the historical place that God's chosen people occupy in history. A 5,000 year written history that is chronicled in the Old Testament, going to back to Noah's 3 sons. The world has always hated God's people and will continue to hate us as long as we serve Him rather than the world. Over and over again, God has allowed the enemies to subdue His people after they disobey His commands and then blesses them when they return to obedience. This is the Old Testament's words, not mine. Perhaps it's time that we all look inward, once again, rather than try to change God's plan and promises.
IDK but the Israeli press I follow has characterized Bibi as a dead man walking for some time without US influence. Hardly surprising given the flat footed and totally unprepared initial reaction to Oct 7. That border breach should have been closed by IDF before hostages could be dragged back. Where was the reaction force? His negatives inside Israel are way negative as we say in the US and no surprise. Maybe a national unity government is necessary for a time before they buy him out. Tricky timing given the circumstances.
