Imagine being lectured to by Kamala Harris and Jake Sullivan. And being told of your “policy failures” by the people behind the Afghanistan withdrawal fiasco. Gantz should have stayed in Israel.

As was the case in 1973, we are seeing that Israel's success in this war is driven by the grunts on the ground whose start up ethos is redeeming the good name of the IDF , protecting Israel and lfighting without kow towing to the US, as opposed to grandiose plans formulated by the brass.

Gantz is part of the Israeli national security elite of ex IDF brass that looks at the IDF as a stepping stone to a political career. This cadre led by Ehud Barak mistakenly thought that a reduced IDF in size , reliance on technology and career building that led to Kennedy School fellowships as as opposed to thinking about to fight and win a war with enough boots on the ground , reliance on, as opposed to disregard for intelligence and disdain for the capacity of the enemy, as was the case in 1973, was sound military strategy and tactics. One questions whether he can be a credible leader, as opposed to Yoav Gallant, who clearly was aware of and predicated a war breaking out in Gaza, but because of internal IDF politics, was forced to retire.

Tablet's obsession with trans persons perplexes and dismays me. This is not a Jewish issue. And despite this new report, many young trans children clearly express their discomfort with the body they are are born in. Perhaps compassion and humility and love would be the best way for everyone to approach this personal or family issue. I would also suggest that someone interview Dr. Johanna Olson Kennedy at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles: https://www.chla.org/profile/johanna-olson-kennedy-md

Those are wonderful ideas for a path back from the abyss and I am going to try to implement them. I’m in the process of making a move and I will keep in mind these things and hopefully be a conduit for a little good in my next neighborhood.
